I just got a call from my wife, Angie, who is at the hospital. Many were able to go see Peter during visiting time. He made some grunting noises with some visitors. The grunting alone is good news...
When Rick and Claudia went in a little later, Peter tried to speak! He tried to say something with an "L" sound. And then he said, "thanks".
I'm passing his message on to you. If you are praying, you are helping and Peter says, "thanks".
There is a long road ahead. This is another step. We celebrate it!

ReplyDeleteI lift my eyes up to the hills-
ReplyDeletewhere does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm-
He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
(Psalm 121)
Praise the Lord! This is wonderful news!
Our prayers are heard and God is good, even when things are bad. Know that in Spain there is a group praying for you all and we trust God and lean on Him even as we dare to hope for the best. Lord, our hopes and our hearts are with Peter and we know that you love Him more than we do, you know his needs better than the doctors and You have an eternal perspective. Give us the strength to trust You as you work your eternal plan.

I don't even know Peter personally, but attend College Heights and have been praying since getting the message in facebook. Something woke me at 1AM so I started praying again for about an hour. I have always been so impressed with God in these kinds of situations. Peter has much on his side, and the ultimate victory has already been won. Keep up the fight, Peter.
